New additions

My buddy, Echo, who somehow got pregnant during our move, had five puppies Saturday, Dec. 5. Mom has her scheduled to be spayed in March. She was sure mad about messing up trying to keep Echo from getting pregnant! She's not mad at Echo of course, just herself. Poor Echo, she is real tired and doesn't want to talk to me at all. I miss her.

I'm a smart boy!

My lazy mom was sitting in a chair on the carport and couldn't reach the balls I laid down by the door for her to throw, so I found a way to get them closer to her. Note how carefully I line up my "shot."

Life is Good

We moved! I have never moved before, so all the commotion and things getting moved around and disappearing was very confusing for me. Mom took me and my buddy Echo (more about her later) to visit Dad at the new house a couple of times. I didn't know why he was in a strange place, but he was happy and Zipper, Dolly and Bingo were there, too, so I wasn't too scared.
I got to run around a lot in a really big yard and chase my ball. I liked it.
Finally, Mom took me and Echo to the new place with all the other little dogs and we stayed. I had trouble sleeping the first night, and for a couple of days when we went outside I went to the car to go home. I finally realized we were staying here and that made me glad. Things still come and go and sometimes I bark at stuff that's out of place, but I like my new, big yard. There are lots of new smells and things to see. Zipper found a kitten (of course he did, he can find a kitten hiding in the middle of a national park). I don't like the kitten much. It falls over when I try to play with it and it tried to take my ball. That's a big no-no!
Dad throws my ball real far and I get to run real fast to get it.
Yesterday, when Dad was outside, a thing full of dirt looked like it was attacking him. I ran over to help him and barked at the thing. It rolled when Dad pushed on it and he turned it over so the dirt fell out. It didn't bite or anything, so I guess Dad got all the stuff out of it and made it safe. I don't understand everything that goes on.
Mom bought me a can of brand new tennis balls to play with since we have a new house. I was so excited I grabbed the can and shook it so all the balls would come out.
We got a new couch - well, new for us - and I like sleeping on it as you can see in the picture.

How to Build a Backyard Habitat

Mom just wrote her first article for eHow.com. No, it isn't the first article of its kind there, but I think it's worth a read. Please take a look! You don't have to leave a comment unless you want to. How to Build a Backyard Habitat

Ch-ch-changes

I do not like change. Mom says that's because I am OCD - obsessive compulsive. She calls me her "Monk Dog." Just because I like to line all my tennis balls up neatly before I go to sleep doesn't mean I'm obsessive. Does it?
Some strangers have been at the house. I can smell them when I am in the driveway going to or from the car. Mom says it's okay because they are cleaning up all the tall weeds and junk from the yard. Well, one of them left the thing the umbrella stands in out next to the driveway. The minute I got home from work with mom, I saw it. It is not supposed to be there. I stopped and barked at it. It's not supposed to be there. I didn't want to walk past it because it's not supposed to be there. Mom said it was okay, but it's not supposed to be there.
I'm not really OCD. Am I?
